As a reminder, because we have already written about this on the EuropeBus's blog, on Monday 31 October 2011 the Government is removing the coach concessionary discount scheme. The scheme currently allows people over 60 or with a disability to travel by coach for up to half price. With almost 400,000 new students making the trip to University next month, National Express has relaunched its popular Young Person Coach Card – offering 30% off all journeys for the next three years. According to NUS figures, the cost of being a student is now in excess of £15,000 per year – with over £2000 on transport costs alone.
