Are you a fan of beer? Go to Poland. Now Gdansk has its own Oktoberfest

Posted in Travel tips

If you like beer (the golden nectar) you don’t have to travel to Munich this year. The Oktoberfest takes place also in Gdansk, Poland. Try German beer in Gdansk.

This German beer has a particularly strong aroma and it’s served in liter „pints” by waitresses in traditional Bavarian costumes. Of course beer is not all what is available on the fest. The Bavarian specialties are served too, such as the roasted pork knuckle in dark beer and sausages served in water with sweet mustard.

The Oktoberfest in Gdansk runs until the end of October. More details here: www.brovarnia.pl

There are many coach companies offering services to Gdansk from Britain and other European countries. The most popular company is Eurolines www.eurolines.co.uk For timetable go to the Poland page.

You can also fly to Gdansk, if you do not like coaches. The Lech Walesa Airport (Gdansk Airport) is located on the border of Gdansk (just 30 mins by bus/taxi from the city centre). There are many direct flights from London and other British airports. Try to book your ticket via www.budgetair.com
