Discover Greece: bus from London

If you planing to visit Greece, is worth to visit the old Olympic Stadium and Athens. It's not something wonderfully beautiful but it is quite interesting. You must also see the Acropolis. Remains of buildings are interesting, so why not visit this place, especially as it is an unusual sight. You can go to the beach. Greece is almost completely surrounded by water, so beaches stretch almost from all sides of the border.
And if we talk about water, why not go to any fish restaurant? Fish is a Greek specialty. If someone wishes to visit an island, the most interesting is Crete. If someone likes the beautiful landscapes, it is worth visiting the Sunio. Sunset is dazzling. Useful guides: Lonely Planet Publications

How to buy tickets online from London to Greece?

Unfortunately, at the moment it’s not possible to buy tickets for the entire journey. You have to purchase tickets separately through the infobus.eu booking tool for each leg of the journey. It is highly recommended to book tickets online in advance. One-way prices from London to Greece can be as cheap as £120 for special deals or around £200 for full fare. Tickets are generally around £150 – £170 if booking a few weeks in advance and not travelling during a busy holiday period. Children, students and seniors may receive discounts on the full fares but the special savings fares are often cheaper. Before you go with this coach, make sure that you have all necessary travel documents (passport and visa). Note that schedules and prices are subject to change and EuropeBus can’t guarantee accuracy of this information. Tickets must be purchased separately on the route from the UK to Katowice and from Katowice to Greece. Simply fill out all fields in the journey planner and follow the instructions to buy a ticket. Discounted tickets are also available for youths, children and seniors. If you book early and your travel dates and times are flexible, you may get ticket with a discount. Early booking is highly recommended. I don’t recommend the Open return tickets for the journey to Greece.

Travelling to Greece from outside London

Agat outside London supports only a few other cities and towns in the UK and London is exclusively one stop on the operator's route. Tickets are available online too. If your city or town is not operated by the carrier you can always travel to London with National Express or Megabus, tickets are available through www.nationalexpress.com or www.megabus.com

The journey from London to Greece by Agat

Transport from Britain to Greece is carried out with traditional Agats' vehicles. All coaches have on-board toilet and washroom facilities, reclining seats and air-conditioning as standard.
Sometimes the coach that picks you up from your departure point has only the final destination displayed on the front windscreen. This is because the majority of Agats' routes include multiple stops and it would be impractical to display every stop on the front windscreen. Also, you may have booked a journey which requires a change of coach. In both examples, please ask the driver to confirm that his/her coach is going to the destination stated on your ticket. Agat put the safety and comfort of passengers first, so the vehicles are equipped with a large number of safeguards. The operators are using modern vehicles with large panoramic windows and increased legroom. Agats' coach services depart from Victoria Green Line Coach Station in London which is located close to Victoria Underground and bus stations.

The carrier provides service to any person who has purchased a ticket. Number of tickets for the designated route is limited to the number of seats. Having a valid ticket guarantees you use of the service (seat on the coach), however it does not reserve any particular place.
Single and return tickets (with the indicated date and time) are for a specific journey, you cannot miss the departure, because you will lose the ticket.
Best to buy tickets well in advance. Agat has many discounts for those who decide to purchase tickets in advance. Constant, although a slight discount is provided for youth, elderly and disabled people. Up to 50% discount is provided for children. Unless you get a good promotional fare, return fares are much cheaper than two single fares each way.

  • Before leaving home for your Agat service, check you have packed all documents and items needed for your journey, especially your ticket, passport (sometimes it is enough to travel with ID card) and if your journey requires a special visa to enter or transit.
  • Arrive at the Victoria Green Line Coach Station in London at least 30 mins before the departure time, as check-in proceedings are quite lengthy.
  • Your luggage should be marked tags bearing name, address and telephone. Please weigh your luggage at home.
  • Never accept other persons luggage for transport! Should you notice any luggage left unattended, never touch it! Report the fact to the station’s service staff immediately. Never leave your luggage unattended!
  • When approaching the check-in desk, have your passport and ticket ready. This will streamline the procedure.
  • Border control & customs: When going through security check, place all metal items such as keys, watches, belts with large buckles, mobile phones, walkmans, small change etc in the boxes, and place them on the conveyor belt of the X-ray machine together with your hand luggage & suitcases. It is advisable to place your overcoats in the boxes. This will streamline and facilitate security control.
  • If needed, remember to take your doctor’s certificates.

The best way to protect against unexpected accidents is to buy travel insurance. In my opinion, so that the journey is stress-free, you should never travel without travel insurance. You can also insure individually with another insurer. This will be the insurance that will apply during the journey and while in a foreign country. The insurance should cover: loss of cash and goods, cancellation of travel and medical treatment abroad.
