New glass-roofed coaches from tomorrow on the route between London and Oxford

Posted in Industry news

3, 2, 1 finally.... the Oxford Tubes’ new vehicles will be available to passengers from tomorrow.

What is new? I think for passengers the most noticeable change of a new Oxford Tube £10m fleet of coaches are glass roofs. Now when travelling in the interior of the vehicle has more natural light.

The operator has bought 26 of the new Van Hool Astromega double-decker coaches, which will also feature 4G wireless internet and announcement audio-visual system on board. The coaches will also deliver increased legroom in the majority of seats.

As mentioned before, they will enter service tomorrow, that is on July 16th.

The coaches are equipped with Euro 6 engines, making them more environmentally friendly. They will also run on B30 fuel - a mix of  30 % biofuel and 70 per cent standard diesel.
