The tragedy of the Cologne stop

Posted in Industry news

Long distance buses and coaches stop only at the Cologne-Bonn Airport! :(

After 28th October, the long-distance and international coaches to Cologne do not hit the breakpoints Breslauer Platz at Cologne Central Station and Cologne-Deutz. This is due to a decision made by the Colognes’ city authorities which has resulted in Eurolines & megabus.com no longer being able to serve the stop Gummersbacher Strasse. The city of Cologne argued with an increasing number of accidents at the Breslauer Platz, keeping the stop for the buses at the Cologne-Bonn Airport as “reasonable". Long distance buses and coaches stop only at the Cologne-Bonn Airport.

Therefore Cologne is currently the only city in Germany that will be without Coach Station within the city. Now people travelling from various places in Europe will also have to overcome the 15 km remaining distance from the Colognes’s Airport to the city center. This way Cologne attracts the displeasure of remote bus and coach carriers and customers to be and also, that they intentionally force the remote operators to hold at the airport, it is held that, finally, the city of Cologne is involved with almost one-third at the airport.

The new stop is located at the airport. The exact location in Cologne is the Flughafen Köln / Bonn, Ankunft (arrivals), Terminal 2, which is a 12 minute journey on the S-Bahn 13 or S-Bahn 19 from central Cologne (Hauptbahnhof or Messe/Deutz).

Timetable on the Germany page is now updated
