Scots motorists are ditching their cars to travel by citylink gold’s luxury express coach service, new research has revealed. The service operates six services a day on two routes linking Glasgow with Aberdeen and Inverness, attracting more than 130,000 passengers in just 12 months. And the latest Scottish Citylink research found more than a third of these used to travel by car, while another 31% had previously gone by rail. With almost 400,000 new students making the trip to University next month, National Express has relaunched its popular Young Person Coach Card – offering 30% off all journeys for the next three years. According to NUS figures, the cost of being a student is now in excess of £15,000 per year – with over £2000 on transport costs alone.
